Fried cabbage and potatoes

Why it worksLet it sit in the pan and turn crispy instead of stirring all the time. The crispy bits have the most flavour.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Cut the potatoes into 2 cm cubes. Boil them for 8 minutes, until just soft. Drain well.
  2. Chop the bacon and onion. Melt the butter in a large frying pan on medium heat. Fry the bacon and onion for 6 minutes, until the onion is golden.
  3. Slice the cabbage thinly and add it. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring now and then, until soft with brown edges.
  4. Add the potatoes and paprika. Press everything flat with a spatula and leave it for 4 minutes, so the bottom goes crispy. Turn it over and add lots of black pepper.
